LET GO OFF THOSE NUTS
It is said that in India monkey hunters use a box full of nuts with an opening at the top big enough for the monkeys hand to slide into. The monkey grabs the nuts turning its hand into a fist. While the opening is big enough for a hand to slide into, it is too small for a fist to get out so the monkey is trapped with two options: hang on to the nuts and be caught or let go and be free. Guess what it picks every time; to hang on.
How many times have we held onto nuts, entrapping ourselves in little things that are not worth it? May be bitterness, hurt from past relationships, past failures, a guilty feeling resulting as a result of past sins and mistakes etc, refusing to let go and be free. An unknown writer said “ in the living bible and I quote “let us strip off anything that slows us down and holds us back especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trips us up and let us run with patience the race God has set for us. How many times have we seen ourselves as not been able to live a righteous life because of past sins we hold onto; or say to ourselves we are not good enough because of past failures; or chased away potential friends because you were hurt in a past relationship. It is time to let go and be free. See every experience be it a happy, sad or painful one as an addition to your CV for global impact and to make you a better person. Get up, shake the dust and move on. I end with a quote from Cyril Magnin, ‘do not look at the doors closing behind you or you may miss the ones opening ahead’.
